Happy 23rd birthday Carolyn

Carolyn couldn't blow out her candles cuz she has COVID.....but I really think she turned a corner today.  (Apple crisp birthday cake after steak tacos!)
Joel came home to help celebrate.
We are going to watch a comedian: Alex Edelman: Just for Us.  He was just on Who wants to be a Millionaire.  I had never seen him before, but then he wrote an article about how is best friend and collaborator died right before they made it to Broadway.  Then I went down a rabbit hole and have subscribed to Max for the month to watch his one man show.  If I don't like it (but I am pretty sure I will)  I will update.

Senior picture preview

Anna had her senior pictures taken Tuesday night.  The photographer sent a sneak peak!

Nicki's wedding

It was great to see everyone!  Unfortunately the McCleary's probably brought and definately caught Covid!  I had the tiniest feeling in my throat on Friday before we left to go to the destination. UGH.  Grandpa still feels healthy, so hopefully only the McClearys were effected.  We did share hotel rooms.  "Luckily" Anna had Covid last month, so she doesn't have to start her senior year with a mask on!

Marching Band time

Two days were spent, fitting uniforms to the band members!  They also had their pictures taken.  I normally don't buy "school photos", but there is no normal this year.  Plus I heard the photographer is going through a rough time and he did a great job working with the kids.

Schilling reunion

I know it has been awhile since I have posted.  This corresponds nicely to when we were short staffed at work.  We have replaced one audiologist and have another starting in 3 months.  So a little relief!

The day before Father's Day was a reunion for my father's family in Dubuque.  My cousin Amy rode with us to Dubuque, which was fun. So great to see so many cousins (and siblings :0)

Flute-feast

Anna is one of the flute leaders this year.  She asked if we could host a flute lunch during band camp.  We made walking tacos, scotcheroos and rice crispy bars.

Her co-leader brought fruit.  We both erred on the side of caution and could have fed the clarinets and trumpets too :0)

Nice group of kids.  I love that Anna is paying back all the good vibes she received as a lower-classman!
