Today's happenings:
I learned that baby Hugo and family are returning early from Germany (Liz = niece, Nick = nephew-in-law, Hugo = great nephew). They have been there about 3 years, but Nick's being reassigned to DSM this summer. They were supposed to stay in Germany to finish out maternity and paternity leave, but now will quarantine in Burlington w/ my brother and wife....where there are not yet any cases of Covid19. Thank Goodness.
Below is the quilt to for Julie's baby to be (different niece, still pregnant, but I was supposed to go to her baby shower on Sunday and I thought I had until June for Hugo's quilt). Hugo's quilt top (and back) are almost done not too! (Started both MONTHS ago...but ya know how that goes sometimes.) Julie's room theme is Pooh (obviously), so this quilt is a little out of my wheel-house with the big character panels....still happy with the result. Joel was cruelly tricked into lowering the quilt so I could steal this photo! But you can see by his smile, he is used to me by now.
Carolyn made this yummy pumpkin dessert...it might be all gone now....yes yes it is!
Joel made Stromboli from scratch and it was phenomenal. It only made it a few hours in the house.
My colleague is having a baby and here is the cute hat I made for him! My first attempt made a flat bowl-like thing...so I started over today! (this is Matthew's bear from infancy....he lives on a shelf in my closet)
My 10th grade co-catechist and I worked together to set up a Google Happening account so that we can meet (virtually) with some of our Confirmation students tonight. I think the turn out will be low pretty, but that's ok.
At dinner my 3 older kids started singing "All-Star" By Smash Mouth. One kid sang a line, then another, then another, then they were singing together. It was awesome!
